Miss Kaitlyn
Professional Background
Miss Kaitlyn is a dedicated early childhood professional with over 15 years of experience in licensed childcare settings. As the founder and primary caregiver of Develop and Discover, she applies her hands-on classroom leadership and deep understanding of program design to her work each day.
Kaitlyn began her professional journey in 2012 at Castle Kids Daycare Center, where she advanced from floater to teacher assistant and ultimately to lead teacher. This early experience provided a solid foundation in classroom management.
After her time in a center setting, Kaitlyn worked in a home-based daycare environment, gaining valuable insights into the strengths and limitations of small in-home care models. This experience significantly shaped her vision for Develop and Discover.
In 2016, she joined the New Interdisciplinary School (NIS), initially working as a 1:1 aide supporting children with special needs. She later progressed to teacher assistant and ultimately became one of the school’s lead teachers from 2018 onwards. During her tenure at NIS, Kaitlyn developed extensive experience supporting children with diverse needs, maintaining structured classroom environments, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
Vision for Develop and Discover
Having worked extensively in both center-based and home-based childcare settings, Kaitlyn recognized the opportunity to merge the strengths of each model. She understands that families in Patchogue value care that feels personal, consistent, and reassuring.
Develop and Discover was founded on this vision — offering a calm, small group environment that maintains the warmth of home while upholding clearly defined routines and professional standards.

Nick manages the administrative and operational aspects of the program at our daycare, overseeing licensing, communication, and organization. As an early childhood professional fully qualified in early childhood care, he also serves as on-site backup support to ensure that required ratios are always met, allowing the program to operate consistently each day.
